Coral Ridge Properties bought 2,330 acres from Barron Collier in 1972, intending to develop the shoreline while maintaining the densely wooded region. Pelican Bay, formerly known as Clam Bay, is an example of environmental design, having conserved mangroves while allowing greater density structures to be erected on the fringes of Naples' shores.
