A very special location and one of Naples's most impressive beach parks. Lowdermilk Beach Park or just Lowdermilk Park as some call it, is a city staple that has become popular with tourists, residents and visitors alike. Locals have taken a really nice liking to is as well because not only it's stunning beach setting and oceanfront beauty, but also for the fantastic volleyball court in has. This particular beach park offers 1,000 feet of pristine direct beach frontage, lots of picnic tables, playground for kids, a unique duck pond, and much much more. Situated perfectly near 5th Avenue and the famous Third Street South, this park is actually within walking distance to all the fantastic Naples restaurants and shopping it has to offer. The sunsets here at this park are simply stunning and memorable. For everyone's convenience the park is very well run and kept up to a T. Located at 257 Banyan Blvd.
Restrooms are present at this park and showers which are outdoors are also present. There is also a handicap beach ramp access for those in a wheelchair. A green flash sighting may be possible here if you are super lucky. Parking is super ample at Lowdermilk Beach Park with approximately 125 spaces made available give or take. Several parking spots require a beach parking permit. The rest of the parking stalls are monitored via a meter system. This beach is typically open starting at 8am and closes at sunset in the evenings. Some have described this beach park like a place out of a tropical movie somewhere on an exotic island. The little grass shack shade huts certainly almost always add to the ambiance. The real estate near this park is packed full of ultra high end beach homes and luxury ocean view high rise condos. A little secret is the concession stand that serves hot dogs and provides much needed shade in the hot Florida sunshine.
If yoga is your forte then explore the possibility of joining the local group hosted by a studio every Saturday at the park from 9:30am to 10:30am. Reservations are not required at all, it is weather dependent and permitting, bring a large towel, water, and a possible and recommended donation of $20 if you can. The well known beach cafe is open every day from 9am up until sunset. Sandwiches, salads, burgers, hot dogs, wraps, and drinks are served. In addition for those with a sweet tooth, they sell ice cream and Italian ices. Parking is metered at a cost of $1.25 for the first half hour and 25 cents for each additional half hour. Beachgoers may also bring wine and beer to the beach provided that it is not in a glass container. Now you can pay for parking at the pavilion and you do not have to put a paper receipt in your car's dashboard. A newer and much more convenient method for sure. One of the nicest beaches in all of Naples, Florida.
