Naples Pier Rules and Regulations
An iconic location like no other. Naples Pier is to the city of Naples what NASA is to outer-space exploration. This is a must see and do place when in Naples and also a go to haven for the most dramatic sunset scenes in all of Southwest Florida. There is a reason the Pier continues to be rebuild when needed and improved upon at all times. A super highly visited tourist attraction along with locals hot spot destination. Things to do here include playing volleyball, fishing, swimming, and watching dolphins at sunset. Living and working in busy environments can limit people and leave them with restraints and inhibitions. That is not the case at all when enjoying Naples and beautiful places like the Naples Pier. It's original purpose was to transport people to and from the Olde Naples Hotel. Officially completed construction was recorded in 1889. If you ever want to see and experience the biggest melting pot of world travelers than an afternoon or evening at the Naples Pier will certainly do it. Fisherman both recreational and avid come here in the hope of their evening catch. Others enjoy the pier for it's majestic simplicity as it stretches 1,600 feet into the Gulf of Mexico's horizon.
One of the most hardiest woods in the world is Brazilian Ipe. Known for it's long lasting and durable effect, it was used in 2015 to replace the main walking elements on the Pier itself. Beachgoers and those walking on it have to come to enjoy it's outcome since it is cool on the feet and should last approximately 30 years. The first home in Naples the Historic Palm Cottage sits directly across from the Naples Pier and provides an abundance of old time Florida nostalgia for those seeking to improve their and expand their knowledge of Florida's yesteryear. Naples Pier is surrounded on both side by luxury real estate mansions and estates. There have been listings in the area on the market priced as high as $50 million dollars. This fine stretch of sand runs along the white sandy beach shores for 10 miles. When the pier was initially built all the materials where brought by boat. Even thought it was destroyed by a fire in 1912, the very first post office was built on Naples Pier. Off to the side you will also find child sized life jackets that can be used by little youngsters to keep them safe.
Experience the charm here as every day at Naples Pier is a true paradise. As you come up to the cup de sac entrance you will see the orange, dark blue, and yellow hues used to paint the stunning sign. Many type of large fish are being caught here like tarpon and tuna. What is also unique about the entrance is the professional overgrowth of sea grapes and palms creating a natural tunnel like appearance. Plummeting pelicans are an eye sight to remember as they feed on the smaller ocean fish down below the waters surface. Emerald waves slowly wash upon the shores as families, couples, children, and seniors all hang about in perfect harmony. An even would not be the same if we didn't spot an painter or two making magic with their brush strokes of one of the most famous piers in all of Florida. Naples Pier is simply a landmark that is well over 100 years old even though it had to be rebuilt more than once. The hurricanes of Florida have had their moments here in time. Spending the day, afternoon, or evening at the Pier is a must do activity even if you are a resident who has been there before. A heritage full of benefaction.
