Located on beautiful and historic Pine Island, Bokelia is an un-incorporated community squeezed in between both Sanibel and Captiva Islands and Cape Coral and Fort Myers. It is getting harder and harder to find old Florida charm as the old way of living is starting to slowly disappear. With Pine Island Road being the only access road that leads onto the island it makes this quaint little Florida treasure even that much more special. Bokelia's population is quite small with around 2,000 residents and counting. It can also be accessed by boat but no matter which route you choose to get there it remains a secluded and tranquil place to be. The outer islands surrounding Bokelia make it a foremost boating paradise. There are several marinas associated within the area providing sweeping ocean views across Charlotte harbor all the way out to the Gulf of Mexico. A place full of blame sunny breezes and tropical palm tree lined sunsets bring together homeowners and luxury vacationers alike. The soothing distant views also provide an array of luxuries when it comes to shopping and dining in the evenings.
Along the 18 hole Alden Pines golf course you will find yourself engulfed in nothing but pure lush greenery and forever gorgeous views. Each home built along The Alden Pine Country Club is situated strategically to take advantage of the wildlife scenes in the area. The are 200 homes here all with their own unique characteristics and appealing finishes throughout. A par 71 championship course it is sure to impress all serious golfers. The tennis courts close by are a nice added bonus feature. The most expensive homes on Bokelia sit elegantly along the water and range in offering price from $2.3 million to $1.8 million. Main Street and Moyer Lane are the more superfluous luxury locations to sat the least. If off the beaten path water access living is what you seek, then Bokeelia's exclusive private island homes are just the thing. Most decent listings in Bokeelia start in the $400,000's and climb quickly to well over two million. There are on average a span of 20 listings while running a search in the MLS. Pineland Road also has some nice options with plenty of fruits, rock walls, gated entrances.
Royal and coconut trees are also part of the amazing vintage Florida green life on Bokelia. Sitting at the top of the island Bokelia is super special and hidden away from any major traffic. The best way to describe Bokelia is to slip away to a tropical paradise back in time. Located just 130 miles south of Tampa yet distanced to a far and away time machine historical island way of living. Pineland Marina in the area offers full service for all boaters and their machine powered boats. Nearby is the fascinating and colorful fishing village of Matlacha. When it comes to even more historical appeal, the post office of Pine Island dates back to 1902 and The Tarpon Lodge was established in 1926. In the end there is nothing like Captain Con's Fish House. Several tree farms and nurseries are in the area along with fantastic parks. The Bokelia Fishing Pier is very iconic and approximately 120 years old. Many nice homes are well built in the area and prepared to withstand hurricane code conditions. Living on the water is defined on Bookelia but in a quiet fashion that is non tacky. Privacy is a must and unique things tend to happen here like when a patron arrived in a private helicopter to Tarpon Lodge. Welcome to the little island and welcome to paradise.
