Luxury Real Estate:
At the end of the day the biggest reason most luxury tropical real estate destinations continue to thrive, is very simple. It's all in relation to their proximity to the water. Beachfront, Oceanfront, and all Waterfront real estate in this country generally goes up price and maintains it's steady rise over time when it is in a desirable and stable location. The highest priced communities in Naples Port Royal, Aqualane Shores, and Royal Harbor all seem to attract clientele with a love for the water.
Early life was obviously much different in Naples before it became a world class tourist destination. It all started with a Louisville senator who decided to visit the area. He fell in love and this all lead to future development of the first hotel in Naples. The men involved in this expedition sailed along the mainland Florida waters and finally came to the destination as we today know as Naples. In the Fall of 1886 The Naples Town Improvement Company was established and named the city Naples as we know it today.
This is all a far and distant cry from what Florida used to be. The First human settlers reached Southwest Florida approximately 10,000 years ago. Calusa Indians originally occupied the land. Eventually, the Europeans took over uninvitedly and so the great real estate revolution began. The calm waters of Naples Bay and the Gulf of Mexico have always allowed for large cargo ships to come to and from. Today more than anything, the water attracts large sailboats and expansive luxury yachts. Naples is considered a playground for the rich and some have gone as far as calling it Billionaires row.
