Naples Golf History
Naples, Florida, is known as the famous golfing capital of the world. Three are plenty of golf clubs and playground haven courses for golf lovers to spend quality time out on the greens. They all come to visit and enjoy the amenities, beaches, and much more. Many famous golfers over the years have come to call Florida and Naples home now. The central location allows them to play in Europe yet also reach all of this country's major tournaments too.
In 1966 the first golf club was opened in Naples Florida - The Country Club of Naples which was designed by William H. Diddel. Olde Cypress is another reputable and well established golf course in Naples. To this today, Naples is considered to be one of the most ultra rich cities in the country. The Old Collier Golf Club is also the most exclusive and most expensive Golf Club in all of Naples. The Country Club of Naples celebrated it's 40th anniversary in 2017. In the 1920's it was marked at a fantastic 9 hole course located just south of 5th avenue. The Quarry and Eagle Creek Golf and Country Club are just two more notable places where the historical significance of golf come to Naples has made it's mark. Whichever way you look at it this city is much newer than many others in this State such as St. Augustine for example. However, this does not mean that the golf does not have an impressive and collective history behind it. Many pros are now choosing to retire and buy homes here in Naples due to the city's clean atmosphere and no nonsense to accepting crime. One of the best place to live and golf by any means, Naples is the place to do it.
